During 2013, we are undertaking the periodic five year review of these documents. An on-line survey was launched today seeking feedback broadly about whether things are working OK or not, and whether there are any elements that the review Steering Groups should particularly look at. Things are really gearing up for the 18th National Science and Engineering week which takes place from the 9 – 18 March with the theme ‘Our World in Motion’. From school science activity days to museum and art gallery events, whatever you are organising for National Science & Engineering Week, make sure you register your event and check out the website below for all the free resources available for organisers. Take part in the competitions and quizzes for all ages and enter your event or activity for one of the Event Awards. The Engineering Council and the Professional Engineering Institutions are working to raise awareness of Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registration and increase understanding of its value. Status of Engineers
The Board of the Engineering Council has agreed to establish a working group to consider issues relating to the status and title of engineers. It anticipates having a policy position statement on these matters ready for issue by the end of December 2011.
Design and Technology Campaign
Through E4E, the engineering profession has committed its support to the Design and Technology Association (DATA) campaign to ensure D&T remains a part of the National Curriculum for 5-14 year olds.
